As a discipline, landscaping was said to start around 1598. The Dutch is claimed to pioneer landscaping in the artistic world which took the form of artistic areas like making scenery on land picturesque. Later on, many techniques and systems were developed and these are widely used today to give or improve the look of a garden.
It is actually easy to set up a beautiful garden and make it look vibrant, but it is the maintaining process of its pristine condition in the years to come that is another story. Since most of the plants would rely on receiving water regularly, the supply of water is one of the most important factors. Be informed that different water irrigation systems are available to help maintain your garden of which usage could vary as economical and some would need more.
Garden irrigation has three methods which are very common.
Rainwater irrigation system is the first type of irrigation system that we can briefly discuss. Considered as best for plants, rainwater irrigation system does not have the toxins and chemicals that are used to treat and purify water by local water supply authority. It is also claimed that rainwater also helps in making plants grow larger and healthier.
Another type of irrigation system is the drip irrigation, and this runs continuously thus would need power. This system can provide plants with targeted and specialized watering, but can be expensive because of the cost of electricity being used by its pumps. However, if you have a solar powered irrigation system and you use the drip irrigation system, you can reduce your cost and still get the benefits of this type of irrigation system.
The third common type of irrigation system is the sprinkler irrigation system which can give water similar to that when there is a rainfall. The system of this irrigation is that water is pumped into a system of pipes then connected to spray heads with pre-determined distances and falling on the land like droplets of water.
The variety of irrigation system would depend on factors like water availability, local regulations, budget and your personal preferences.
